What is CISV? -
Children’s International Summer Villages is a non-profit, non-political, independent, volunteer organization that offers children and adults the opportunity to travel and make new friendships worldwide while learning to understand and appreciate different cultures. The philosophy of CISV can be summarized as a commitment to know countries through close friends rather than as abstract places on a map and to accept others without prejudice or stereotypes. Every summer, CISV brings together children and young adults from all over the world to foster international understanding and friendships in the hope of achieving peaceful solutions to worldwide problems.

Middle School Forums Oct. 18 & 19

posted Oct 6, 2016, 4:43 AM by Williams Middle School PAC

At a recent meeting, the Longmeadow School Committee voted to continue working collaboratively with the Select Board and other stakeholders to ensure that Longmeadow's middle schools’ substantial facility needs are addressed cost effectively and in a manner that provides future students with safe, up-to-date learning environments.  As a way to inform the community and gather community feedback on this approach, the School Committee’s Middle School Working Group (MSWG) invites interested residents to attend an upcoming public forum to discuss how to best address the needs of Longmeadow’s middle schools.

  • The first forum is scheduled for October 18, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in the Williams Middle School auditorium.
  • The second forum is scheduled for October 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Glenbrook Middle School auditorium.

The forums are designed to be interactive.  District administrators will provide information on the condition of each building, while residents will have a chance to ask questions and share their perspective on this important topic.  Residents are welcome to attend both forums.  Please note, however, that the format and agenda will be the same at each session.   Community members attending the Williams forum will be expected to sign in upon entry as school will be in session.
